An Introduction to PJ Boxes
PJ Boxes is a non-profit organization providing much-needed comfort to homeless women in Los Angeles by offering them a good night’s sleep. Founder Alexis Linder is just 18 years old, but she has already established herself as a leader, having been awarded the prestigious Presidential Service Award (2020) for completing 100 hours of community service within one year!
PJ Boxes aims to make the lives of homeless women just a little bit more comfortable. We supply them with boxes containing pajamas, slippers, and sleeping masks, with the hope that they will experience support and care.
A Note from the Founder
It goes back to when I was 8 years old when I signed as a professional model with the nationally recognized Osbrink Agency. With this exposure starting from such a young age, I was lucky enough to work with the likes of H&M, The Children’s Place, Barbie and Mattel, Cherokee Jeans, and many more multinational clothing companies. Continuing my modeling career, I was chosen as the main spokesmodel for a year-long international campaign as the Splendid Girl for the fashion labels Splendid and Ella Moss brands.
In March 6, 2020, I went on to capture more milestones signing with and being represented by one of the top-ranked international modeling agencies in the world: Vision Models LA.
While I have achieved success, I have always gained fulfillment through volunteering. Since age 13, I have given my time to MEND (Meet Each Need with Dignity) located in Los Angeles. Observing and interacting with so many women and children in need, I started pondering about the essentials of life that provide ease and comfort in people’s lives.
As a student, model, and volunteer at MEND, it came to mind that the items that give me stress relief and comfort are PJs and slippers! Such was the thought that took me towards charity and led me to establish a non-profit organization that provides PJ Boxes for homeless women!
